Game Ideas


1. Rafting Game:

 The aim is to get a raft and crew safely down a river. There are obstacles the player has to avoid using various steering methods. The player can accelerate, slow down/reverse depending on the flow of the water. Steering is rather slow, however there is potential for extra (quicker) steering options where the crew helps. Depending on time and progress more features can be implemented: crew members can get bumped out when hitting an obstacle too hard, advanced steering options, weight shifting within the raft to avoid loosing crew, picking up lost crew etc. Difficulty levels could rather easily be implemented by letting the player control variables like the flow rate of the river. Greatest difficulty is probably the modelling of the river.

2. Crop Rescue Heli:

Background: Helicopters are used to mive warm air down to the ground and displace cold air, preventing a frost in expensive crops like wine grapes. On the tops of poles in the field are little lights with thermocouples. If the field patch is fine, green light, if cold red, if severely cold flashing red. Pilots fly around and hover over areas until the lights go green.

Game: The player moves the helicopter and tries to rescue crops before they die. Some speed, reaction and strategy necessary! Surviving crops could give the player revenue and let them upgrade their helicopter. Different difficulties could involve wind gusts making handling of the vehicle more difficult. If the helicopter comes too low, crops might also be destroyed through the winds of the blades, however the cooling effect is better (quicker) the closer to the plant the helicopter hovers. Can be extended with different levels, upgrades, etc.


Target Audience for both would be teenage/adult players. Some for interest in the background (game could be semi realistic), most probably only for fun/gameplay.
